Backpack and School Supply Drive

St. Clare's Social Concern Committee is asking for donations of new Backpacks and School Supplies.


The backpacks and school supplies will be going to 20 different schools, school districts, churches, and organizations in and around our area.

Needed Supply Items Include:


  • #2 Pencils
  • Colored Pencils
  • Crayons (small boxes)
  • Glue Sticks
  • White Glue
  • Large Pink Lead Erasers
  • Markers - Dry Erase
  • Rulers
  • Folders
  • Ball Point Pens - Blue and Red
  • Homework Folders
  • 70-Page Spiral Notebooks
  • Small Pencil Sharpeners

April Donations:


  • 4 carloads of clothing, coats, sock, tennis shoes, tents and sleeping bags to WWJD. In Roseville

 

  • 4 carloads of the same items to the Missionary of Charity Sisters homeless outreach in Sacramento

 

  • 4 truckloads of the same items to the Ukrainian refugees in No. Highlands

 

  • Gave 1 walker With a seat to a parishioner

 

  • Lent two knee strollers to people with ankle and foot surgeries

 

  • 15 blankets to W. Placer School District

 

  • 2 truckloads of sleeping bags, blankets, shoes, clothing and tents to Showers by Touchstone in Sacramento

 

  • 2 truckloads of the same items to Stand Down Placer in Roseville

 

  • 3 truckloads of furniture to the Ukrainian refugees

 

  • 1 carload of large plastic storage bins with lids to Showers By Touchstone

 

 

Totals…10 carloads and 11 truckloads…Last year for April it was 12 carloads and 10 truckloads

 

Meals…

  • 1,540 meals to the 3 Alternative High School
  • 180 lunches to the Gathering Inn, Roseville
  • 300 lunches to STVDP
  • 170 dinners to the Gathering Inn, Auburn
  • 30 dinners to John E.’s River Camp

March Donations


  • 3 Carloads of clothing, tennis shoes, blankets, sleeping bags, tents, socks and cooking utensils

 

  • 3 truckloads of clothing to the Ukrainian refugees

 

  • 30 hygiene filled backpacks and left over hygiene items to the Ukrainian refugees

 

  • 4 carloads of clothing, sleeping bags, tents, backpacks, tennis shoes, blankets and socks to WWJD

 

  • 72 hygiene filled backpacks to Wellspring Women’s Center in Oak Park

 

  • 50 blankets to the homeless in Sacramento

 

  • 52 blankets to the Alternative high schools

 

  • 2 carloads of clothing, coats, sweatshirts, tennis shoes and socks to John E.’s river camp

 

  • 1 wheelchair to a parishioner

 

  • 4 truckloads of furniture to the Ukrainian refugees (including two hospital beds)

 

Totals…..13 carloads and 7 truckloads

 

Meals distributed..

 

  • 1,540 meals to 3 alternative high schools
  • 170 dinners to the Gathering Inn, Auburn
  • 190 lunches to the Gathering Inn, Roseville
  • 240 lunches to the STVDP kitchen
