Middle School Ministry (6th - 8th Grade)

St. Clare’s Middle School Ministry provides a welcoming space for young people to grow in faith, community, and service with engaging lessons, prayer, Bible study, and community-building. Through the Sacraments, Saints, and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, youth are encouraged to deepen their relationship with God and confidently live out their Catholic faith during these important formative years. Here, young people learn to 'Love God, Serve God,' forming an identity rooted in the person of Jesus Christ who laid down His life for us.

2026-27 Program Overview

St. Clare Middle School Ministry is open to all 6-8th Graders. Sessions are once per month on a Tuesday from 6-7:30pm in Morris Center. All 6-8th Grade youth are welcome to participate in our monthly youth gatherings, which are supplemented with additional Social Nights, Adoration Nights, Retreats, and Community Service opportunities. For youth that are preparing to receive their Sacraments, additional information is provided below.

  • Confirmation
  • Confirmation is a two-year journey that begins in 7th Grade. Teens can receive their Confirmation as early as 8th Grade and will need to participate in Confirmation preparation as well as various Youth Ministry events throughout the year. During Year 2, teens must attend all Confirmation Sessions as well as a retreat, a rally, and complete service hours. Please see our Confirmation page for more information about our program and how to register.

  • First Communion
  • After participating in one year of Family Formation, Middle School youth can enroll for Year 2 of First Communion preparation. For those who need to receive First Communion and Confirmation, they can be completed simultaneously. To sign up for First Communion, please register using the Faith Formation link above.

  • Baptism
  • For those seeking Baptism, welcome! Anyone over seven years old is automatically enrolled in our OCIA program. This is a two-year preparation for Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation that will all be received at our Easter Vigil mass along with other youth and adults. During each year, OCIA candidates will attend sessions with their families, accompanied with participation in Youth Ministry. You may contact Laura Rios for more details.
