The Sacrament of Confirmation

Confirmation at St. Clare Catholic Church invites youth and adults to strengthen their faith through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Through preparation, prayer, and community, candidates are empowered to live as active, committed disciples of Christ and the Church.

Baptism, the Eucharist, and Confirmation, together constitute the Sacraments of Christian Initiation.

Through the Sacrament of Baptism, we are adopted as sons & daughters into God's family --- the Catholic Church. With the Holy Eucharist, we are nourished by the Body and Blood of Christ.

Through the Sacrament of Confirmation, our identity as children of God is perfected & strengthened by the Holy Spirit.

Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.

Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)

Adult Confirmation

For Catholics (ages 18+) who have been baptized and have received their first Eucharist but did not receive the sacrament of Confirmation.

Confirmation is a sacrament of Christian commitment and a deepening of our baptismal gifts. It is one of the three Sacraments of initiation. Some Catholics received the first two sacraments, Baptism and Eucharist; however, for one reason or another, they did not receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Adult Confirmation prepares Catholics seeking to complete their initiation through a series of sessions centered on fostering a deeper relationship with Jesus and the Church he founded.
